Ms Chai can't teach you how to make a mooncake. But, what about making your own lantern?
NOTE: Here, we do not use a candle with the lantern.
1. What do you need?
a) 6 pieces of square size paper (the harder the better)
b) 4 pieces of lightweight size paper (the lighter the better)
c) a stick with light bulb & battery
d) glue / tape
e) colour pencils
f) scissor / craft knife
2. Fold each of the four outer coners into the centre.Do this for all 6 pieces of square size paper.
3. Unfold and cut a square hole in the middle of the square size paper (A).Do this for for 4 pieces of square size paper.
TIPS: You may vary the shape and size of the hole as you like.
4. Draw and colour whatever you like on the lightweight size paper (B).Do this for all 4 pieces of lightweight size paper.
NOTE: Don't colour all the background, as it will block the brightness of the light.
5. Stick B to A (C).6. Stick all C together. The uncut square size paper will be on the top and bottom.
NOTE: Make a small hole in the middle of the top paper.
7. Insert the bulb into the lantern thru the hole made at step 6.TIPS: You may fix the position of the bulb by taping the wire to the paper.
8. This is Ms Chai's very own lantern.
